Some Youtube footage on Zu

They got some probs with the new stuff on Zu so I'm still running around here. I so totally got no life, INORIGHT! Dx So, I decided to add some youtube stuff here. This is especially for people who don't know Zu yet. As it's so small, you don't see how pretty everything is but it gives a good impression. Note: this ain't my footage. I got it from youtube!

This one is really from scratch. How it looks when you make a char, choose your faction (you do that right away in this game). Also, you really see how you can change the angle of the camera. ^^

I think this is an official vid from the Chinese version. The interface is a little different but the maps are the same, as far as I can see. Same music too, lol.

Here you get an insight on how battles between factions look.

Moonmaiden promo, YEAH! XD <3

The footage you'll see after first opening the Zu game. I think they should have picked a different voice. An old man's voice or something.

Swirling Path from the eyes of a Bead Fairy.

There are more but these were the.. let's say 'best' I could find. XD They're not in order of bestness though. Ö

Angels Online VS Zu Online

Lol first blog thing. :'D Okay, woot. I've played AO for quite a long time before I got bored and right now I'm playing Zu Online, which I love much better. I got a lot of friends hooked up on AO and now I'm trying to get them hooked up to Zu, which seems a bit harder. XD Why am I writing now and not running around on Zu? Because they're upgrading, WOOH! I do want to add that this is totally how I see it! Ö

Very well. Why I quit AO? Personally, I feel like a machine when lvling there. The same quests all over and over and over and over again, until you can't do it anymore because of the level limit and you do the next series of quests over and over and over again. From some people I heard they enjoy it this way, which is really lovely for them, because you can get that in both games. What I love about Zu is that you start with masses of different quests and you do all of them once. The quests slowly lead you to the other maps and other factions (for non Zu Players: there are three factions which all have the same maps and fourneutral areas the factions got in common. Wandering in neutral areas and other factions' maps, enlarges the chance of being killed. :D). In AO you pretty much have to figure it all out by yourself. I ended up killing myself there so I could walk around all the maps safely (and getting lost occasionaly XD). - But as I was saying, you will also have a good deal of grinding in Zu. When your level gets higher, you will have less quests and more grinding. HOURAY! (Well not for me, but then we got our powerlvl friends. XD)

Then the graphics. It's really hard to say which one is better on this points because they differ so much. AO is cute and pretty and you always see the map from the same angle. In Zu you can change the angle easily and you can see a lot more of your surroundings. Sometimes I just fly around so I can look around, change the camera angle all the time and enjoy how pretty it is. *nerdie* Some people dislike the style of Zu because it's less well... finished than for instance AO, but personally I think that there's so much to be seen that those imperfections don't matter that much. Another detail in Zu is the amount of non-killable beasties running around. I know how hard I tried to attack the thingy below in the beginning but it just wouldn't work. Every map has them, just running around randomly, and they certainly add to the diversity of the maps and the sheer joy of looking around.

Another thing in which AO and Zu differ a lot is the teams/parties. For bosses, in AO you HAVE to team up unless you're really strong. In Zu you can single most of the bosses, but it just takes such a long time that you prefer to have a party with you. You are more stimulated to be in a party than forced to. The more people in your party, the more exp you get for killing mobs. Where AO has2x (maybe 4x now? Well, depends on whether you buy exp cards too..) exp events, you can get up to 9x in Zu: it's 2x + a full party + rapidity bolus (which you can get by doing certain quests rather than buying them at the item mall).

And now I got to the point item mall anyway so I'll continue there. For the people who are willing to pay the money for stuff from the item mall or have lovely parents, it's like heaven. For people who refuse to pay or can't because of the currency in their country, it's an absolute pain in the butt. I am with the gang that refuses to pay, and yes it's a pain in the butt, but I know that without the Item Mall and especially the people who DO buy stuff there, I just wouldn't be able to play this game at all, so I accept it. But in AO, for me, it just got srsly harder and harder to run around and level without having stuff from the item mall. In the end I did have it, but I had to collect tons of gold before I could afford it. Where to get tons of money quite easily? Right, farming in your league area. So you gotta be in a league with an area. Or you kill of tons of mobs nonstop and get money from them, but goldfarming in league area goes more swiftly. I had a league with an area (Lawlocaust <33) but unfortunately, my dad didn't want me to have the computer on all day or all night. And when I was behind the computer myself, I had to lvl rather than collect gold. - In Zu, you get bones (equals the normal gold from AO) from some quests and none from killing mobs. The main source of money would be brigands and especially CT. Brigands are mobs who look like... robbers who run srsly quickly and if you kill them, you get so much k bones according to your level. The lowest is 10k. I assume that when the cap's gone, the highest will be 280k..? o.O; Well anyway, every map only has a couple of brigs and their respawn time is rather long, which brings us to CT: commercial travelling. You can start this when you hit lvl50 (which is much easier in Zu than in AO, because you get more exp for quests and Zu has more lvls). I'll try to explain this really simply.. mm. Every map has one or more commercial salesman, from which you can by four things: a normal tradething, a good tradething and a great tradething and a golden striker. I'm gonna take Sky Lake stuff as an example now. You can buy Amrita, Good Amrita, Great Amrita and Sky Lake Golden Striker there. Dunno what the prices are right now but let's say Amrita 's 350, Good Amrita 1000, Great Amrita 2000. BUT you can also buy a Golden Striker for 500. What are these numbers? They represent both bones and CT-fund. According to your level, you can add a certain amount to your CT-fund every day. I think the cap there is 25k or something? Anyway, when you buy a Golden Striker (or Amrita), you lose 500bones and 500 from your CT-fund. The max of Golden Strikers you can buy a time is 5. With these Golden Strikers, you go to the collection area. Per Golden Striker, you can get one Amrita. It's just a thingy on the ground (I'm probably adding screenies later, but I can't right now because they're upgrading AAHFTW) which you click. You don't know whether this will be Amrita, Good Amrita or Great Amrita. Anyway, you do it a couple of times until you ran out of GS's, you could buy more and do it again etc. After having dug up the first Amrita, your speed slows bij 50%. K, you got the Amrita you want now, and you could go and sell it at the same dude where you bought the GS's, BUT you could also go to another map! The further and higher leveled the maps you go to, the more you will get for your Amrita's. Anyway, with this method, you can earn a lot k per day. I think I heard someone say he could get up to 100k per day, but he was of course high leveled. XD Once you delivered your Amrita's at a salesman, you have your normal speed back. But to get to my point: you can get bones easier and buy item mall stuff from people who bought the stuff with real money.

Mm.. ahh, yes, the matter of dying! In AO, when you die, you lose exp. The higher your level, the more exp you lose. A friend of mine who is lvl 61/62 there, gets about 2% from the 100% that is the next level in an hour (dunno whether this is common or whether she's just lazy XD). Upon dying, she loses 1%. That's half an hour... When you die in Zu, you can either lose nothing or bones (the higher your level the more you lose). You can select that you want to be revived on the spot with full health (most bones) little health (less bones) or release your spirit. Then you turn into a spirit (the same as in AO, but in Zu you don't see the other chars and the other chars don't see you, while in AO you run around as an angel) and you can regain your body-state for free at a ride guard. You CAN lose parts of your outfit then - they also lose durability), but you can get them up so you have 'em back and just repair them at any NPC owning a shop. So you don't lose durability by fighting (at least, I haven't noticed I have in Zu..?) and only by dying. Also, the repair costs are lower.

In AO you have a seperate class for making weapons, one for making armor and the chef's I'll skip (they make food that increase attack and stuff). In AO, anyone can make armor and weapons. You just gotta have the right tradeskill materials. THIS is the really expensive part in Zu. The higher your level, the more it's going to cost. You just get few tradeskill materials from mobs. You gotta buy most of them. Then, just like AO has it, there's a chance that it goes wrong and you lose the money and material (and heypepto told me he died when it went wrong? XD). In AO you can add fire, earth and stuff like that by getting crystals in the weapon, but if this goes wrong, you screwed up your weapon - can't use it anymore. In Zu you lose all the stuff you used, but the weapon doesnt break.

Still got an hour to think up more stuff to compare before I can play Zu again. Ehhr... Oh yeaah, lets talk about pets and mounts. :'D In Zu, it's one and the same. In AO,they're two different things. Unfortunately, I lost all my screenies from AO (I COULD CRY D:) so I can't show you my char there + pet. BUT WAIT! Still got all my hooked up friends. *kicks one on account*Okay, voilà.

In AO, you train pets. Only the pet gets stronger then. The pet also fights for you or with you and can die just like you. This is one thing I like better about AO: your pet also fights. Very well, your ride or mount is inajustable (is that a word?) - you can't level it or add more attack or something to it. It's just the way you buy it and it stays that way. Your pet lvls by fighting. (Also another nice plus from AO's pets: you can buy an exp diamond. Every so much % of the exp the pet gains by fighting to mobs, adds to the crystal. When it's full, you can add the exp to your own.) Oh oh oh, another spiffy thing from the pets in AO! Every level, you're asked a question. Your pet will 'evolve' according to your answers: you can raise it mean and nice. It will look different when you raise it mean than when you raise it as nice. The first time the pet evolves is at level 15, from egg to junior. Then you need to have the item mall MBC to level it again (I did that with my pet *points above) and then an ABC. - As I mentioned, in Zu, your pet and your mount are one and the same. When you turn lvl 30 in AO, you can buy and ride in your first mount. When your pet in Zu hits lvl 30, you can ride on it. Just like in AO, this increases your speed. But other than in AO, the pet can give you personally a lot of extras. Even when you're not riding it, the pet can be equipped (in this time, the foodthing also drops, just like when you've got your pet out in AO). The higher the level of your pet, the more extra stats you yourself get. You can also feed your pet weapons and armor (yeah really XD) which increases its stats and thereby your stats. At Zu, you can lvl your pet by feeding it exp leafs. These exp leafs kan be gained by letting your pet 'walk' in the prescribed areas, which can be found on certain maps. Except pet leafs, you also get intimacy flowers, food grass, and health flowers. And here you're again stimulated to make a party, but not forced: the more people in your party, the quicker your pet finds leafs, flowers, grass. Okay, mm... Ah yes, lemme show a screenie of Zu with a pet as a pet and a pet as a ride. :'D

Woot, in 15 minutes I can play Zu again. XD And know so much more points on which to compare the two great games but I'm to lazy to write any more, so I'll just give you some screenies to end with. C: Big thanks to Gianna for all the screenies from AO here! <333
